Within a week, the NHL will be crowning a new Stanley Cup Champion. This means that the free agency frenzy for the Nashville Predators will be starting up soon.

The long wait for the new season to start for the Nashville Predators rolls along, and we’ll continue to bring you news and fun social media posts from the team and players.

More from Predlines

There will be lots of news and announcements from the Nashville Predators in this shortened offseason as they try to stay relevant in the Western Conference.

The Predators have a lot of business to take care of between now and the beginning of next season.

This week we take a look at a new piece of hardware for Roman Josi, another great accomplishment for Josi, and the Predators Official Podcast celebrates a milestone.

Roman Josi Wins the Norris Trophy

The NHL handed out their final regular-season awards before game two of the Stanley Cup Finals.

After months of waiting, it was finally confirmed that Josi was the winner of the Norris trophy.

This was the first Norris Trophy win for Josi. He is also the first Nashville Predators player to ever won this award.

The Norris Trophy is given to the defenseman “who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position.”

Site Expert Chad Minton wrote an excellent article with all of the details on Josi’s win.

A few months ago, I also wrote about Josi’s outstanding season and why he was the clear choice for winning the Norris Trophy.

Congratulations to the Captain on this well-deserved win.

Roman Josi Named To NHL First All-Star Team

Josi also got more good news in addition to being awarded the Norris Trophy. He was also named to the NHL’s All-Star First Team. This is the first time in his career that he has been named to the first team.

The All-Star First Team consists of Josi, fellow defenseman John Carlson, forwards Leon Draisaitl, David Pastrnak, Artemi Panarin, and goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.

How would you like to have to face that starting lineup on the ice?

Michael McCarron Signed To One-Year Deal

Preds General Manager David Poile announced that the team had signed forward Michael McCarron to a two-way contract for one year.

McCarron traveled with the team to the Edmonton bubble for the Stanley Cup Qualifiers.

Last season with the Milwaukee Admirals, McCarron scored 13 points (10 goals, 3 assists) in 27 games played.
