We have not seen any more free-agent signings for the Nashville Predators since the flurry of transactions at the beginning of free agency.

Nashville Predators fans are patiently waiting for training camp and next season. January 1 is the target start date that we have heard from the NHL.

More from Predlines

General Manager David Poile has, so far, assembled a team unlike any other we have seen since before the Predators’ Stanley Cup run.

It will be exciting to finally get a good look at a Predators team with many new faces. This may be the most roster moves that the team has had in recent history.

Next up on the Predators calendar will be training camp. The date hasn’t been set, but the speculation is that it will be sometime in December.

The date that’s being heard for the start of next season is January 1. The AHL recently announced that its season would start on February 5.

We are all anxious for the season to start, even if it winds up shorter than the standard 82 games. Hopefully, some fans will be allowed to attend, as well.

This week, we look at another Predators baby that is on the way, a special birthday, and Hockey Fights Cancer month throughout the NHL.

November Is Hockey Fights Cancer Month

The NHL and the NHLPA have joined forces for the 22nd year to announce their “Hockey Fights Cancer” initiative. Over the years, $28 million has been raised to help people and their families that have been impacted by this horrible disease.

The NHL, teams throughout the league, and the AHL have teamed up with the American Cancer Society and The Canadian Cancer Society. Last year, the NHL raised over $3.8 million.

Josi and Ellis Make The Top Defensemen List

On Wednesday, the NHL put out their top-20 defensemen list. In no surprise to us, Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis made the list.

Josi was ranked no. 2 (whatever), and Ellis came in at no. 19.

Both Josi and Ellis had great seasons last year despite Ellis’ injury. It will not surprise me if both of these guys are in the running for the Norris Trophy next year.

Happy Birthday, Peks

On Tuesday, Pekka Rinne celebrated his 38th birthday. Next year Rinne will get the best birthday gift of all when he welcomes his first child into the world.

November 3 should be proclaimed “Pekka Rinne Day” if not in the entire United States, then at least in Nashville. Happy birthday to an excellent human being.

Happy Birthday, Snossis

The Predators had another birthday on Thursday. Colton Sissons turned 27.

Happy birthday, Colton!

And Yet, Another Predators Fan Is On The Way

On Tuesday, Viktor Arvidsson and his wife announced that they are expecting a baby in April.

Arvidsson makes the fifth player that is expecting a child early next year. Earlier announcements were made by Roman Josi, Pekka Rinne, Mattias Ekholm, and former Predator Austin Watson.

Congratulations to the Arvidsson’s.
